Fergburger

Fergburger is a must eat when in Queenstown. A burger here will make any carnivore or vegetarian happy. This place makes some of the best burgers, if not one of the best burgers, I have ever had. Due to its single location and extreme popularity, you will be waiting in a long queue to order. There are tonnes of staff that keep it moving. The service here is amazing. You have multiple staff asking you how things are and if you need anything. It is not a full service restaurant. The seating is very minimal inside and hard to come by so expect to be taking your burger away. You see people all over downtown Queenstown eating Fergburgers. Queenstown also has great green spaces for hanging out so space is not hard to find to eat else where.

They have a large menu with lots of options. Everything is ordered separately. Their beef burgers use local New Zealand beef. They also serve unique options like venison burgers. Deer farms are common here. There is also chicken burgers or for the vegetarians, falafel.

A flurry of activity on the assembly line.

If you order their fries, get the garlic aioli dip. Its the same aioli they use on their burgers.

The Sweet Julie had marinated grilled chicken tenderloins with a sweet chili sauce. It gave the burger a nice spice. The spicy sauce tasted so good combined with their signature aioli.

Everything about a Fergburger is amazing, especially the bun. Fergburger makes their own burger buns all day long at their bakery next door called Fergbaker. The bakery also makes many sweet treats as well as meat pies. The bun is so fluffy, fresh and chewy.

You cannot go wrong with a classic cheeseburger here. The beef patty has an incredible seasoning on it.

I experimented with Brie cheese on my Fergburger on another visit (we came here 3 times in a week!) The Brie made the burger so decadent and extra delicious. I highly recommend doing this if you are a Brie lover like me.

You don’t come to Queenstown and not have a Fergburger. Do yourself a favour, take the time and wait in line to enjoy one of the freshest and best burgers. Their hours are crazy so you can enjoy them almost any time of day. They open at 8:30am and close at 5am. If you hate waiting in line for something this amazing…then go for breakfast.
