The Rees Hotel

When traveling to another country, I like my accommodations to be of high quality and comfort. I did ample research on where to stay in Queenstown, New Zealand. I ended up booking The Rees Hotel for our week long stay in the South Island of New Zealand.

The pictures of the view on their website mesmerized me. I knew I wanted to have a room on the water. These views are from our executive lakeview 2 bedroom suite.

The kitchen had everything we needed.

I really liked the architecture in our room. One of the bedroom corners opened up in to the living space. It made it feel much more spacious especially when we opened the large glass sliding wall on the balcony.

Our 2 bedroom suite also had 2 bathrooms. This was very handy as there were 3 of us travelling together.

The beautiful hotel overlooks the main body of water in Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu. These are the views from the lobby. You can enjoy cocktails and snacks here.

Due to my jet lag and the huge time zone difference, I woke up quite early for the first few days. I was able to see the sunrise off our patio one morning and it was a stunner.

We visited Queenstown at the start of their fall season (end of April going in to May). Snow fell on the mountain peaks and it was reminiscent of home for us (BC, Canada). As well as our room having a beautiful view of the lake; it also had an incredible view of the main mountain range on the South Island, The Remarkables. The above photo was taken from our suite’s balcony.

We had room service a few times. Pictured above is their pumpkin risotto with chicken and the spaghetti bolognese. Everything we ordered was tasty. They have a beautiful restaurant that overlooks the lake. It serves breakfast and dinner.

The hotel’s concierge service was very helpful in planning and booking the tours we did. They answered all my questions ahead of time via email and recommended reputable companies. Once we got there, they booked all our activities as well instead of us having to book things individually. Another very convenient service the hotel provided was their shuttle. Since the hotel is located about 5 minute drive from the downtown core, you need some sort of transportation. The shuttle runs throughout the day, on the hour, and drops you off at a central location in downtown. You simply call down to the front desk and book your spots. It saved us a lot of money on a car rental as well as the hassle and stress of driving on the other side of the road. The only times we took a taxi were to and from the airport. We had a very comfortable and luxurious stay here. I would absolutely stay at this beautiful property again upon my return to Queenstown.

Special offer- if you mention my website/name upon booking your stay at The Rees Hotel, you will receive a complimentary bottle of local wine in your room upon arrival
