You know brunch is going to be amazing when you want one of every single item on the menu. Belgard Kitchen is open for all meals of the day but I went here for the first (my favorite) meal of the day. Brunch is served on the weekend only from 10am-3pm.
Belgard shares its space with Postmark Brewing Company and Vancouver Urban Winery. The space is beautiful with super high ceilings and lots of barrels.
Their Caesar comes with a bean wrapped in bacon. Yum!! The drink was spiced nicely too. One of the better Caesars I have had.
A table full of food. My favorite way to brunch is getting my own dish and splitting one with my eating partner.
The salmon gravlax has had house cured fish, loads of greens and two perfectly poached eggs on top. The avocado added another layer of creaminess. A swipe of their famous beet & beer puree made this dish look extra beautiful. The puree mixed with the egg yolks was like the perfect sauce for this hash.
The steak and eggs were so flavourful with a chimichurri sauce over the meat. The parmesan onion cream over the eggs was addictive. I have never ordered steak and eggs before because I always imagine it to be too heavy. Their version was not heavy in the least and was lightened up with some greenery under the steak. It came with a side of their cheesy breakfast spuds too.
Their bread pudding French toast was decadent but not too rich. I loved the pecan streusel and blueberry compote. The bread was not dry at all and had a great crispy exterior.
Brunching here was the perfect way to start my day. I am looking forward to dining here for dinner and lunch. Telling by their brunch, everything they do here will not disappoint.
