The quiet town of Ucluelet is dishing up some phenomenal pizza. Abbondanza opened recently and has the town a buzz with their creations. They are a family run restaurant and the hours vary. Make sure you check their website or their Facebook page for their current hours of operation.
The menu is simple. The pizza dough is one of the highlights here and they let it ferment for about 36 hours before making it into a pizza. The result is an addictive and chewy crust.
I watched them quickly toss dough in the air and decorate it with delicious toppings. I couldn’t wait for mine.
The pepperoni pizza has loads of meat on it and gooey cheese. It hit the spot.
The white cheese pizza was very comforting. It had a bechamel sauce with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. I liked how there were so many fresh herbs on this pizza. It really elevated all the flavours.
This pizza is easily the best in Ucluelet and Tofino. The town is very lucky to have this authentic spot serving up these fresh pies. They often sell out before closing time so try and get here earlier if you are able to. They accept cash only and you order in restaurant. They are a must eat when on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Do not miss this fantastic pizza.
