Black Rock Resort is a stunning hotel perched over the Pacific Ocean. Its picturesque location in Ucluelet, Vancouver Island, makes it one of the town’s best places to stay.
The hotel has a unique U-shape. Try to get an ocean front room to fully enjoy all the beauty here.
We stayed in a one bedroom oceanfront suite. The suites here are some of the biggest I have ever stayed in. All areas of the suite are large including the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The resort also has studio suites and suites with rainforest views if you are looking for something a little more budget friendly.
One of the best features of the oceanfront suites are the massive patios. The patio runs the length of the entire suite. I first stayed at Black Rock Resort about 5 years ago for my honeymoon. I will never forget our first night at the resort. We were stargazing off our patio and we saw 3 shooting stars in a row. It was so magical. You can do some great sky watching late at night here.
The mornings are mystical at Black Rock. You can see here all the black rocks it is named after. I took this photo off of our patio of the scenery across the way. I like all the mist rising up. It looks like the ocean is waking up.
We had some fantastic bald eagle activity that we also watched off our patio.
The above 2 photos are of a sunset over the resort and the trees around it. Since you are at the edge of BC, the sunsets are usually pretty stunning.
The Wild Pacific trail is easily accessible from the resort grounds. Do not miss a chance to walk this trail. It’s one of the most popular things to do when in Ucluelet. There are so many view points and places to watch the ocean and take in the surroundings. We have seen lots of eagles off of this trail too. I always have my fingers crossed to see a whale out in the ocean when I am on this trail but not yet.
The resort has 2 places to eat on site: The Float Lounge (open from 3pm til late) and The Fetch Restaurant (open for all meals with a small break before dinner). The amazing wave bar above is in their lounge.
They offer room service for breakfast but not for other meals. We ordered some burgers and salads as take out from their lounge. They simply called us when it was ready to pick up.
I like breakfast in their Fetch restaurant. The views from this restaurant are spectacular with floor to ceiling windows. Restaurant go-ers have seen pods of killer whales from here.
I always have such a relaxing and rejuvenating time at Black Rock. To unwind even more, you can spend time at their Drift spa. I have not had a treatment here before but I have heard great things about them. They offer many types of services like massages, facials and body treatments. The resort is pet friendly so your furry friends can come on your holiday too. Black Rock is always the first place I want to stay when in Ucluelet for a luxurious and memorable stay.
