I had seen so many Vancouver foodies & Instagram accounts post about the spectacular handmade cakes at Trafiq that I couldn’t take it anymore. I made a visit to this French inspired cafe with cake in mind.

There are many other delicious looking things at Trafiq too like their sandwiches, quiches, cookies and brownies. I will have to come back to have those too. Get ready for an onslaught of cake pictures…

It was incredibly difficult to make a decision here. I had heard great things about the Earl Grey cake and the tiramisu.

We got a slice of vanilla salted caramel cake (front) and chocolate chai (back).

The slices were very generous and very affordable. This cake was incredible. Seriously delicious. It did not leave a film of sugar in your mouth. It was light yet still decadent. I am pretty sure its the best cake I have had so far. It had pockets of caramel waiting to ooze out. To any of my loved ones that may be reading this, birthday cake one year please??

The chocolate chai was also amazing. The chocolate flavour did not compete with the chai flavour. The chai flavours were perfect and just the flavours I was hoping for like cinnamon and cardamom. The cake part was moist in both of them and all icings were so smooth. Utter perfection.

There was always a line up but it moves quickly as there were many people working here. I came here for cake only but I will definitely be back for their savoury creations too. If you are a dessert lover, especially a cake lover, you must go here. Cakes that are almost too pretty to eat…almost.
