Desserts are my weakness. I always want them. The endless selection at Thomas Haas was mesmerizing. Making a choice here was difficult to say the least.
This post is about the Kitsilano location but there is another location in North Vancouver. There will probably be a line up when you walk in. Don’t be discouraged, it moves fast as there are a lot of people working here. I find it amazing that Thomas himself could be serving you which he did for me! My day was made by interacting with one of Vancouver’s (if not the world’s) master chocolatiers. I like to ask those working wherever I am going about what their favourites are. I was so star struck when Thomas was helping me that I still ended up asking him what he would recommend. He laughed and replied, “You are asking me to pick who my favourite child is!”
Here are some of the gorgeous hand crafted chocolates.
All the pastries and cakes look so perfect. I was in awe the whole time.
Or maybe you want some of the famous croissants? The double baked almond croissant is legendary here as well as the chocolate filled, pain au chocolat.
Their French macaron selection is amazing. I loved the mix of classic and creative flavours.
I really like the easy to read packaging here. The percentage of cocoa is clearly visible. I brought home a 37% creamy milk chocolate bar. It was heavenly and very creamy. You could tell it was very high quality chocolate. There are all different types of chocolate bars, barks and sweet treats to take home.
They make seasonal chocolate art. It’s currently autumn and these chocolate pumpkin boxes are the cutest. I am totally coming back for Christmas. If you are on my list, you are probably getting something from here this year.
They have some of their spectacular chocolate art on display. Wow, right??
The spread after some decisions were finally made. Thomas Haas is known for their hot chocolate so I had to try some. I love the cocoa heart on top.
The almond mascarpone cake is their take on tiramisu. It was incredible and went perfectly with our drinks.
Here are some of their French macarons. From left to right: pumpkin, mango, lemon, raspberry, strawberry vanilla and chocolate. They are also delicious, just like everything else.
The desserts are nothing short of perfect here. Everything is executed with precision and attention to detail. Thomas Haas is a must visit for any Vancouverite or tourist.
