Finch’s is one of my favourite places to get sandwiches. Not only are they incredibly delicious but all their food is so beautifully presented. They have 2 locations in Vancouver (downtown & Strathcona). This post is about their downtown Vancouver shop.
Their atmosphere is so quaint, rustic and chic. I love their gold frame menu boards with pretty writing. It’s so fancy and French.
This is their tea menu. My favourite tea here is the Vanilla Almond Rooiboos.
This pastel coloured cabinet full of tea cups is so charming.
I haven’t had the cookies here before but I am sure they are perfect, just like everything else here. I had just come from Earnest Ice Cream so I didn’t have space for these.
My friend & I had worked up an appetite from doing some of the Seawall so we had our own sandwich and split a salad.
I have always been a fan of the Gyspy salami sandwich with some applewood smoked cheddar added to it. The salami is delicious and has a peppery bite. The pesto mayo gives this dish lots of bright herb flavour. I really like the baguettes here. They aren’t too crusty and are still soft.
How beautiful is their pear baguette? The flavours are so on point in this sandwich. The perfectly cut pears are topped with oil, vinegar, roasted walnuts, blue brie cheese and prosciutto. I really liked the texture the nuts gave to this creamy sandwich. The pears were such a great palate cleanser and gave the right amount of sweetness.
The avocado salad was so nicely presented. I really liked the buttered baguette hanging off the side. The salad was lightly dressed with oil and vinegar and I appreciated the half avocado on it.
They can get very busy over the lunch hour so if you know you want your food to go, it’s a good idea to call ahead. All their dishes are so well seasoned here and I enjoy their no nonsense, classic combinations. If I was a lot closer to them, I would never attempt to make another sandwich again and eat here daily. To eat pretty Parisian inspired dishes, check out Finch’s.
