Krause Berry Farms

One of my favourite Fraser Valley spots to visit in the summer time is Krause Berry Farms. I get so excited when they open in May/June and try and go as often as I can til they close in the early fall (September/October).

As you can see from the sign at the market entrance, they have a store, a porch to eat at and the winery. They also have a play ground, tractor train rides (weekends only), a petting zoo among other things like movie nights under the stars and cooking classes.

Krause has sprawling berry fields that you can pick from. Bring your own containers or buy them for $1/basket.

If you do not want to pick your berries, you can go inside the shop to purchase them. They sell local berries and produce only. The cherries and other fruits that they do not produce usually come from the Okanagan.

Their freshly made berry shortcakes are so fantastic. Today’s offering was raspberry. Its a ridiculous amount of berries wrapped inside a shortcake dough. It is then baked, dusted with cinnamon and drizzled lightly with a sweet glaze. I always take home a couple of these on any visit here.

The gorgeous, sky high strawberry custard pies available in the market.

Krause is known for its waffles. They serve whatever berries are seasonally available with a pile of fresh whipped cream and maple syrup. I have also had the blueberry waffles and mixed berry. They are all amazing. Its the best way to start your day.

Right next to where you eat the waffles is their estate winery. Krause makes it own berry wines and you can sample them here. I love the saddle seats!

You can try 5 wines for $5. This fee is waived when you buy a bottle. How cute is the boot glass?? You can enjoy a cheese plate in this area and other things like berry sangria.

My berry haul on this trip. I split a 10 pound flat of strawberries with a friend and got some cherries.

I really like showing people Krause Berry Farms. They always love it. It is easy to spend a few hours here since there is so much to do. It’s also a great place for families since it keeps the kids so entertained or for couples/friends that want to eat good food and sample berry wines. You must check them out if you haven’t yet.
