I stayed at Pacific Sands Beach Resort in Tofino on my most recent trip to the area. It was my first time staying here. I had heard good things about the resort from coworkers that have stayed here before so I decided to check it out for myself.
The beach is very expansive when the tide is out.
I would get so hypnotized watching the waves on the beach or from our patio that gave us amazing ocean views. I watched an endless amount of surfers here.
I stayed in one of their one bedroom Lighthouse Suites. This type of suite is perfect for couples or small families. The sofa turns into a bed. Most of their accommodations are pet friendly. Pacific Sands has a large variety of suites and beach houses that can house a larger amount of people. I would love to rent a beach house for a family vacation.
This is a picture of the kitchen area.
The bedroom had a comfortable queen bed. I liked leaving the window open at night to hear the waves crashing while I was going to sleep.
I enjoyed lots of peaceful time on our balcony.
Here is the view from the balcony. I like that the Lighthouse Suites are staggered to give you privacy while on your balcony.
Pacific Sands has lots of great amenities. This storm watching gazebo is one of them. There is a fire pit in this gazebo so you can roast marshmallows even when it is raining. It is too bright to see in this picture but that is the ocean right outside the gazebo. Its a great place to be in rainy weather to watch the waves crash on Cox Bay.
Another bonus about staying at Pacific Sands is that they have a special place to watch the sunset/sunrise called Pettinger Point. To get here, you take a path behind the beach houses to a very easy and short trail that takes you to the point.
This is the start of the trail. There are a few stairs and its approximately 500 meters long.
Once you get to the point, you have a unique perspective of the waves.
Sometimes you get lucky and catch the waves crashing on the rocks in front of you.
The sunset was so captivating.
On our walk back to our suite, we noticed that the sunset was going to be a colourful one so we spent some time on the beach.
The whole sky turned pink and it was so beautiful.
I had a relaxing and fun stay at Pacific Sands. Their location is optimal being that it is beach front and so close to town. It only took us a few minutes to drive into Tofino or to our favourite Tofino restaurants and spots. I liked that there were so many amenities on the resort including a coffee/necessities shop in the main building. The resort is great for all types of vacations from having a romantic holiday to a family vacation.
