Purebread is one of my most favourites bakeries. I fell in love with them at their original locations in Whistler (Function Junction & Whistler Village by the Olympic rings). Ever since I discovered them we always had to go here to load up on incredible baked goods during any Whistler holiday. This post is about their Vancouver location in Gastown. This location has been open for approximately one year now.
One of the things I love about Purebread is there is no shortage of choices. They are always jammed packed full of too many things I need to eat.
Some of their beautiful loaves.
They have meringues as big as your head. Their most popular is the salted caramel.
I am a sucker for the sugar buns here. The first one I ever tried was a lemon one and it was unreal. Its kind of like a doughnut but not. Its baked dough that has been filled and then rolled in sugar. I got the raspberry rhubarb today. I adore this combination of flavours.
This is a glimpse into the inside of the sugar bun. The filling is so fresh and bright. The sugar on the outside balanced out the slightly tart filling.
I just recently found out that Purebread was voted one of Canada’s top 20 bakeries. I am not surprised, congrats Purebread!! They have been my favourite ever since I found out about them through a local Vancouver magazine. You cannot go wrong with any of your choices here. They have a large selection of savoury items as well as sandwiches. I am so glad they are not a vacation treat for me anymore and that I can enjoy their goods in Vancouver.
