Pagliacci’s is an Italian restaurant in downtown Victoria. They are definitely a must eat in Victoria especially since they were featured on You Gotta Eat Here. Their pastas are handmade nearby on the island.
Paglacci’s makes their complimentary bread, a delicious foccacia bread. Its salty and finger licking good. I could easily eat the whole basket to myself.
The Hemingway Short Story was a beef & cheese tortellini in a bacon cream sauce. This dish was so decadent. It tasted like Italian comfort food and I absolutely loved the green onion on top. It added so much freshness to a heavier pasta dish.
One of my favourite Italian dishes is mushroom ravioli. Their Super Mario 1-Up Mushroom Ravioli had perfectly cooked pasta. The mushrooms were roasted before being enveloped in the pasta and it gave them so much amazing flavour. The chili flakes lent the perfect spice to the ravioli.
I had to save space for dessert as this place is known for their housemade New York cheesecake. They have a few different types of cheesecake but we kept it classic with the plain cheesecake. The slice came with a huge mound of fresh whipped cream. The cheesecake itself had the perfect texture. It was definitely one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had. They also make their own ice creams and I couldn’t pass up on the raspberry. It came with a chocolate chip cookie.
Pagliacci’s was one of my favourite places to eat on my Victoria holiday. They were everything I love about Italian food. I am already looking forward to my next trip back to enjoy them again.
