Oak Bay Beach Hotel

During my recent stay to Victoria, I stayed at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel. It only takes about 15 minutes to get to downtown from here as it is located in the Oak Bay area. I prefer to stay by the water during vacations and Oak Bay Beach Hotel was right on the ocean.

The original hotel opened in 1927. It has been completely torn down & renovated since.

This was a family vacation so we had a one bedroom suite with an adjoining room.

The one bedroom suite had a comfortable King sized bed.

The ensuite bathroom opened up to the bedroom.

The bathroom in the suite (and adjoining suite) were large and well appointed.

The adjoining suite had 2 queen beds.

These are the city views from the balcony off the suite. We opted to save a little money and have city views since we were right on the water. It was easy enough to walk through the hotel to enjoy the ocean views.

The hotel had a mineral pool and 2 hot tubs. They are complimentary to use as a guest of the hotel. They are located just off of the spa where I enjoyed a lovely scrub treatment. Prior to the scrub, I spent some time in these hot tubs to start the relaxation. The spa also has a fitness center and steam room. Even though I went in January, I braved the cold one night and went for a night time dip in the hot tubs. The brilliant star lit skies with the waves crashing in the background were more than worth it.

The hotel has a few different dining options. A place for coffee & breakfast called Kate’s Cafe, a pub called The Snug and a formal dining room. The above halibut fish & chips meal was in The Snug pub. The fish had a crunchy, light batter.

The beef dip had spicy fried onions and brie cheese. It was so delicious & comforting.

We finished our meal off in The Snug with a chocolate salted caramel tart. It was lovely.

I really enjoyed my stay at Oak Bay Beach Hotel. It was full of amenities and had a very central location. I liked not being right in downtown and did not feel far from it. The ocean views were incredible and the hotel is situated among so much nature and beauty.

  1. […] The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is among beautiful beaches and bays. While I was on adventures in the Oak Bay area, I had a chance to see lots of wildlife, usually while I was on my way to eat some great food. […]
