Osso Lunchroom is one of my favourite spots in Langley. I have written about them on my website before (to see my previous post click here.) This post is about happy hour at Osso Lunchroom which happens Monday to Friday, from 3 pm-6 pm.
The way I like to eat is many bites of many things so happy hour was perfect for me. The above dish is polenta fries. I really like polenta (made from corn meal) so to have it presented like fries was so fun. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside with a smooth, golden interior. I enjoyed the spicy aioli with it. Definitely asking for more of the sauce next time I order these.
The mini meatball sandwiches were so cute The bread had a great chew and the meatball was not overloading the mini sandwich. I liked the addition of pesto to it.
The pork croquettes were a nice meaty bite. They were loaded with pork, perfectly salted and crunchy.
The risotto balls were very creamy. They were so comforting to eat. I like peas and I was happy to see peas speckled throughout the risotto ball.
This was one of our favourite dishes of the night (we ordered it twice), the spinach and feta pizza. I love the pizzas at Osso already and to make something so simple and fresh like a spinach & feta pizza was genius.
Aside from how delicious everything was during Osso happy hour, the prices were phenomenal. All dishes were only $3.50 and we each had a 5 ounce glass of wine. The house white wine was a blend wine from the Okanagan, we both really liked it. My eating partner likes a drier wine and I like sweeter. It ended up being perfect for both of us. We ordered almost everything off of their happy hour menu, except the spicy chickpeas. The bill including dessert (below) was under $40!
I have to finish my meal at Osso with their ricotta doughnuts. My eating partner does not have a sweet tooth like me but she thoroughly enjoyed these cinnamon sugar ricotta doughnuts. They sit atop a luscious caramel sauce.
