There has been an explosion of soft serve ice cream shops in Vancouver in the last while. Soft Peaks was one of the places that started this trend. They are located in Gastown and claim to be Vancouver’s only organic soft serve. They only use Avalon Dairy milk (Burnaby, BC) and add minimal sweetness to produce delicious soft serve. They also use as many local toppings as possible (eg: honeycomb from the Fraser Valley & Okanagan).
Lots of options. There are many more I still want to try.
It’s a beautiful shop. I love how they showcase this honeycomb.
The Honeycomb Peak has a few pieces of honeycomb and cereal flakes in it. The soft serve tastes just like frozen milk since minimal sweetness is added to it. The toppings really have a chance to speak and be appreciated. The cereal was at the bottom of the cup and was still crunchy once I got there.
The Mudslide is a chocolate lover’s dream. Its loaded with Tim Tam cookie chunks and chocolate sauce.
I like the concept of this shop. It’s supporting local as much as possible and producing high quality soft serve. I look forward to my next visit back.
