I have been going to the Roadhouse Grille in Surrey for years now. It ends up being a central spot for my family to meet at for get togethers. The style is eclectic diner, without being too over the top. They do one thing differently though that most diners. They do not have a deep fryer on premises. If you get potatoes, they will be pan fried/roasted etc but no fried-on-fried foods that we have come to know in some diners. They make most things from scratch (their signature honey salad dressing is amazing) which means creative & fresh dishes at the Roadhouse.
This is their eggs benny. I was undecided between a couple different items and my server recommended I try their benny because of how fantastic their hollandaise is. She was right; it was smooth & creamy without being overly heavy. It was traditionally served over ham. I really enjoy my hashbrowns as cubed potatoes, not the shredded kind, so this was right up my alley.
You can’t go wrong with their traditional breakfast. It’s everything you need in a good breakfast: two eggs, potatoes, meat of choice & toast. The bacon was done to my liking, extra crispy. I absolutely love that they serve breakfast here til 3pm daily.
The chicken taco salad is great here. There is no guilt of eating a big, fried shell but the garlic bread totally makes up for that. I really enjoyed the creamy lime dressing on this salad; it coated the heaps of romaine & spinach. This salad was huge with the guacamole, salsa, beans, chips & chicken. I hate having a big salad that isn’t filling. No issues here with that.
Their classic beef dip au jus. The meat was very tender & moist on a soft hoagie bun. The au jus was delicious. It was served with pan fries.
Everytime I leave the Roadhouse Grille, I am satisfied. I always have a good meal here whether I am eating my usual dish or trying something new. I also hear they do a fabulous prime rib dinner on Fridays & Saturdays. I hope to check it out soon.
Thanks for reading my first post!!!
